Confessions of a Toddler Drama Queen: Memorial Weekend!!

This year we actually had something fun planned for Memorial Weekend. Marnie had planned a trip to New York to see Jamey, so my parents were going to head to Dallas to watch the kids for the weekend. Since they moved down there, Peyton hasn't gotten to see her cousins much. So we decided we'd go down there and stay a few nights and let them play. It was a ton of fun. Chad took off on Friday so we got to leave early Friday morning. We went by Durant first to have lunch with Chad's mom and visit with his dad for a bit. Lunch was great (thanks Grace!), and we had a great time had Pop's barber shop. Peyton thought it was very cool.

We left Durant and headed to Dallas, but we had to stop by the outlet mall in Allen first! I got some adorable dresses, shoes and pajamas for Peyton. Friday night when we got in we loaded up and ate dinner at this awesome fried chicken place by SMU's campus. Which was only about 4 minutes from Jamey and Marnie's house. After we got home we just got settled and then headed to bed. We had a long day.

Saturday morning we got up and Tam, Darren, Chad and I (and Tam's dogs) walked down to Starbuck's for breakfast and coffee. It was a lot of fun. Also down the street from their house is this cool plaza area. They had a bunch of shops like Chanel, Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, well basically a ton of expensive shops that we couldn't even afford to look in! But there was a Starbuck's there too, and that's all we really cared about. As soon as we got home we hopped in the pool. We swam for 7 hours I think. It was so much fun. We had yummy chili dogs for lunch and for dinner we made delicious pizza's in the brick oven pizza. Peyton had so much fun. It's so much fun to watch her play with her cousins. She thinks they are all so cool. Especially Presley. She followed her around and colored with her, played dress up, imitated her in the pool, etc.

Sunday morning after we got all of our stuff packed up we went to the Dallas aquarium. It was so freaking cool. Way different then what I imagined. It was like an indoor jungle! There was a ton of different birds, fish, little monkeys, sharks, penguins, flamingos, turtles, jelly fish, and even a cheetah. So awesome. And again, Peyton loved it!

It was such a great mini vacation. We got home around 5 yesterday evening and took that time to relax. I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow! :(

Oh yeah, I forgot to post some pics of last Wed. Jett was in town for the week staying with my parents and Marnie's parents. Wednesday night my parents, Tam and Darren, and Jett came over for tacos and to play a little basketball.
