We flew in on Saturday and got settled in our hotel, which was amazing. It looked right out at the bay and was just across the street from the Gaslamp District. We didn't really have anything planned so we just took off walking and exploring (and trying to find lunch!) After we ate we wanted to check out the USS Midway, but we knew it would be closing soon. We would have been able to make it had we walked, but it was about a mile and my mom's knees were hurting. So we decided to rent one of those bikes that hold several people. Holy crap! I have never laughed so hard in my life. Chad was steering us all and we had no idea what we were doing or where we were going. We some how ended up on the main road with a lot of traffic. You would have though we were on the highway as bad as we were freaking out. But during our freakout we started laughing and then we couldn't pedal because we were laughing so hard. It was pretty funny!! By the time we finally got to the Midway they had been closed for 5 minutes! We were so mad, but made the best of it by enjoying the park area and letting the girls run around. Plus we needed a break from the bike! We finally headed back and dropped off the bike, and decided to go back to the hotel and let the girls swim.
The hotel had a great little kids area with a swirly slide and a splash area. They had such a great time and by the time we got back to the room they were pooped!
The next day we spent the entire morning at Sea World (it will have it's own post very soon!) which was a blast. Oh wait, we actually started out that morning doing family pics. I had asked Nicole to do the photography for our convention so she was already in town and agreed to do some pics for us. The girls were cute and now we have some great pics to remember our little trip.
That night I had to start doing convention stuff and had to hand the girls over to my parents. They stayed another few days and really got to enjoy the city. I think all of them had a great time. I got to sneak up and see them several times though out the day so that was nice. One night Chad and I had an event that ended around 9 at night and all of our work friends were going out for drinks in the Gaslamp District. We decided we'd much rather spend the girls last evening in San Diego with them, so we went and got them from my parents room and let them stay the night with us and snuggle! It was perfect. I'm so happy we had the opportunity to bring the girls with us and let them experience another fun city!!
